Antwerp coach celebrates Alhassan Yusuf return – Score Nigeria
The Antwerp coach has said he is excited with the return from injury of midfielder Alhassan Yusuf as this provides him with more options and chance to vary team tactics.
Alhassan injured his groin in August and he was expected to be sidelined for just two weeks.
Antwerp coach Brian Priske told Het Laatste Nieuws, “Guys who had already made a lot of minutes could take a little rest. Moreover, Engels, Vines, Yusuf and Haroun are fit again, while the internationals returned in one piece and on time.
“It means that I have a lot of choice at the moment. Almost everyone is ready to face the next series of matches: a pleasant development.”
The Belgian club are second on the table after winning their last five league games, but they face a busy schedule in the coming weeks.
“I’m not going to rotate to rotate,” Priske said. “But if you have such a full calendar, the circumstances will automatically demand changes. Because I have so many players ready for duty I can vary the tactics, which in turn makes it more difficult for the opponents to study us.”
Next Thursday, Antwerp will fly out to Turkey to battle Fenerbahçe in the UEFA Europa League.
