Captain Ahmed Musa insists Super Eagles victory today before personal milestone – Score Nigeria

Ahmed Musa could finally earn his 100th cap for the Super Eagles today, but the captain said what will matter most to him is to beat Central African Republic to avenge the setback the team suffered in Lagos.

The Wild Beasts stunned the Super Eagles 1-0 Thursday to throw wide open Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifying group.

Both teams clashed again this afternoon in Douala, Cameroon, with Ahmed Musa on the cusp of becoming only the third Nigeria star after Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo to make 100 appearances at full international level.

“The most important thing is for the team to win the three points,” Ahmed Musa maintained.

“After that it will be interesting to get my 100th cap should the coach pick me.”

Ahmed Musa, 28, made his Super Eagles debut against Madagascar in 2010.

He has featured at two World Cups and won the 2019 AFCON.
