Daga misses Flying Eagles U20 World Cup decider – Score Nigeria

Star midfielder Daniel will not feature for the Flying Eagles in tomorrow’s all-important U20 AFCON quarterfinal against Uganda after he did not recover fully from a knee injury.

“Daga won’t be ready for tomorrow’s match against Uganda,” a top team official told SCORENigeria

“He has not fully recovered from injury.”

Daga was one of the revelations when Nigeria topped the qualifying tournament for the U20 AFCON last year.

However, the 16-year-old defensive midfielder injured his knee in an opening Group A match against Senegal.

Gombe United ace Mohammed Aminu has played for the Flying Eagles in his absence.

Captain Daniel Bameyi has also been suspended for this quarterfinal and his place is most likely to be taken by Sweden-based Abel Ogwuche.

Tomorrow’s match will determine one of four U20 World Cup tickets on offer at the U20 AFCON in Egypt.

Kick-off time at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia is 6pm.
