Everton vs Wolves – Free Betting Tips

Everton and Wolves go head-to-head in the Premier League on Boxing day with both teams desperate to secure all 3pts. Visiting Wolves sit bottom of the table on 10pts while Everton are one place above the drop zone with 14pts to their name.

Wolves Double Chance

We’re backing Wolves to come away with a draw or a win on Boxing Day as they have picked up three wins, from their last five games against the Toffees. Everton went into the break for the World Cup in poor form, lacking goals and looking frail at the back. Wolves don’t offer much going forward themselves but have at least won some games of late unlike Everton.

Under 2.5 Goals

We’re not expecting many goals in this game and could easily see the match ending goalless if the Wolves fail to find the back of the net. Two of the last three meetings between Everton and Wolves have produced under 2.5 goals, while three of the host’s and four of the visitor’s last six competitive and non-competitive matches have witnessed fewer than three goals scored.

What will the team lineups be on Boxing Day?Everton

Everton put in a pathetic performance away at Bournemouth in their last Premier League game, going down 3-0 and looking like genuine relegation fodder. The Toffees simply don’t have goals in them and unless they buy a couple of forwards in January, it’s hard to see their long run in the Premier League continues. Garner and Townsend look set to miss the Wolves game through injury but Calvert-Lewin could return after another injury layoff.

Predicted Lineup: Pickford (GK), Tarkowski, Coady, Mykolenko, Patterson, Gueye, Onana, Calvert-Lewin, Iwobi, Gray & Gordon

Wolves

Wolves progressed through to the next round of the League Cup in midweek as most expected them to at home against lower league side Gillingham. Jimenez converted a 77th-minute penalty to hand Wolves the lead and Ait Nouri made sure of the win in stoppage-time. Chiquinho, Neto, Traore, Kalajdzic and Jonny are all injury concerns ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.

Predicted Lineup: Sán (GK),  Semedo, Collins, Kilman, Bueno, Moutinho, Neves, Podence, Hodge, Jimenez & Guedes

Starting Lineups

*Lineups are usually announced 1hr before kick-off

Player to Watch: Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon has had a largely poor season for Everton, despite there being so much hype around the young forward.

Since the big bids came in for Gordon, the player scored a few goals and looked like he might be trying to force a move out of the club. However, since the transfer window closed, Gordon’s form plummetted to the point where he eas no longer a regular in the Everton starting eleven, a starting eleven that has been struggling for creativity and goals.

Gordon went away with Everton for their tour of Australia and it seems to have done him the world of good and Frank Lampard will be hoping he can bring this new level of performance to Everton’s next competitive game against Wolves. Gordon scored a hat-trick against Western Sydney Wanderers in the final of the Sydney Super Cup but the real challenge for the Everton star comes on Boxing Day.

We’re backing Gordon to have a good game against Wolves but we’re not sure it will be good enough to secure the 3pts Lampard so desperately needs.
