Harry Kane hits historic goal to dent Man-City’s title ambition

Harry Kane became the all-time record scorer for Tottenham after his lone strike on Saturday dented Manchester City’s title ambition.

He thus, surpassed the record set by the great Jimmy Greaves, when he scored his 267th goal for the club.

City needed a win to cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to two after the Gunners stumbled at Everton on Saturday, but City could not get it.

Kane struck on 15th minute to give Tottenham the lead. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg laid the ball off to Kane, who shot from close range into the left side of the goal, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

On first half added time, Riyad Mahrez spurned a big chance. He got to the rebound but only hit the crossbar.

On 64th minute, Julian Alvarez received the ball from the set piece on the edge of the box, but failed to score because his shot is blocked.

On 70th minute, Kane beat the defender inside the box and lashed a shot towards the right side of the goal, but Ederson made a brilliant reflex save to deny him.

Three minutes to duration time, Cristian Gabriel Romero saw a second yellow card, followed by a red and was sent off.
