Top Betting Picks for Leeds vs Manchester City

After a six-week Premier League break, the best league in the world is finally getting back on track with a usual hectic schedule at the end of the calendar year.

Over 3.5 Goals

Manchester City’s goalscoring form needs no explanation, but with Leeds is a different story. Their last two Premier League matches ended with the same 4-3 scoreline, one with a loss, the other with a win. They also played a game with three goals against Liverpool, and a five-goal thriller with Fulham. Going with an ‘over’ on this match is a logical conclusion.

Both Teams to Score – Yes

Leeds is more than capable of scoring goals, even against the best teams in the league which they proved time and time again this season. However, they will be hard-pressed to avoid humiliating defeats like on the last couple of occasions, approximately at a similar time of the season last year when City won 7-1, and at the end of the last season at home when the score was 4-0.

Can Leeds stop Erling Haaland?Leeds

Jesse Marsch did provide some necessary change when he took over the Leeds team. They play with more passion, an attacking football that is pleasing to the eye. The fans certainly enjoy that kind of action, if only there were more wins to get alongside all those goals scored. As things stand right now, Leeds will be fighting hard to remain in the Premier League, similar to what happened last season. They are only two points away from the relegation zone with a game in hand against those competitors, but they desperately need to improve their winning margin as they only have four, and two of those coming in their last three outings. However, things are going to be extremely tough for Leeds this time around. Not only that they are playing the defending champions, but they are also missing a huge number of players. Luis Sinisterra, Archie Gray, and Patrick Bamford are all injured, while Jack Harrison, Rodrigo Moreno, Liam Cooper, Crysencio Summerville, Diego Llorente, Illan Meslier, and Mateusz Klich are doubtful, even though some of them are expected to be at least on the bench. Tyler Adams won’t play because of suspension.

Leeds’ potential lineup: Klaesson, Kristensen, Koch, Ayling, Forshaw, Gelhardt, Gnonto, Greenwood, Roca, Struijk, Rodrigo.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s team came back in action last week by beating Liverpool 3-2 in the EFL Cup match. The Spanish tactician was pleased with the way his team responded to a demanding clash, the first for both teams after the World Cup break. The City is the closest follower to leaders Arsenal going five points behind Mikel Arteta’s side, but with plenty of games still to play, there is no need to panic. The season will likely go down to the wire. Guardiola will also be without some players, but his problems are nothing compared to what his colleague on the other side has to endure. Ruben Dias is injured, Kalvin Phillips is unfit after the World Cup, and Julian Alvarez is still celebrating Argentina’s World Cup title.

Manchester City’s potential lineup: Ortega, Ake, Laporte, Akanji, Lewis, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Palmer, Haaland, Mahrez.

Starting lineups

Starting lineups are usually released 60 minutes before kick-off.

Player to Watch: Erling Haaland

Not surprisingly, all eyes are directed towards the prolific Norwegian striker who has taken the Premier League by storm in his first season. He already has 18 goals to his name in the PL alone and will look to continue his goalscoring dominance against the Leeds team missing several important players.
