FW Predictions for Leicester vs Newcastle

Leicester and Newcastle were both in action in midweek where both sides progressed through to the next round of the League Cup. However, 3pts are on the line in the pair’s next game as the Premier League makes its long-awaited return following the conclusion of the World Cup.

Both Teams to Score

We’re predicting goals in this game between a Leicester side looking to put some distance between themselves and the relegation places and a Newcastle squad looking to qualify for the Champions League. Both teams scored in three of the last four league meetings between these two sides, while Leicester have found the back of the net in each of their last four matches and Newcastle have only failed to score in one of their last six outings.

Player to Watch: Miguel Almiron

Newcastle Paraguayan international will be hoping that his fine early season form continues following the international break, as he has been the stand-out player for the Toon Army.

It took the 28-year-old a fair amount of time to settle in England but under Eddie Howe, he has released his true potential and is now a goalscoring force from midfield.

This is Almiron’s fourth full season at St James’ Park and the midfielder has scored 8 goals in 15 league games so far making him the club’s top scorer. Almiron will be aiming to reach double figures in the Premier League for the first time and may even surpass his previous best total of 13 which he scored for Atlanta United in their title-winning season of 2018.

Almiron is the player to watch at The King Power Stadium because if he plays well he will probably score and that usually leads to a Newcastle victory.
