Manchester United loanee Oyedele misses out on Altrincham’s Goal of the Season award :: All Nigeria Soccer
Manchester United-owned defensive midfielder Maxi Oyedele has missed out on Altrincham’s Goal of the Season award.
The Poland U19 international of Nigerian descent had been shortlisted for his fantastic volley during Altrincham’s 2-2 draw with Oldham Athletic in a National League match at Boundary Park on Good Friday.
The Robins announced at their End of Season awards for the 2022-2023 campaign that Chris Conn-Clarke’s incredible solo goal against FC Halifax Town won the Supporters’ Goal of the Season.
Other players that were in contention for the accolade included Egli Kaja, Aaron Bennett (3), Josh Lundstram, Marcus Dinanga, Jordan Hulme (3), Elliot Newby, Ryan Colclough, Miles Welch-Hayes, Tyrese Sinclair, Joe Hugill and James Jones.
Oyedele’s loan spell at Altrincham went well with the midfielder scoring four goals in twelve league outings.
The 2022 FA Youth Cup winner has now returned to his parent club Manchester United and made his full Premier League 2 debut in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last Friday.
This summer, Oyedele is set to feature in his first major tournament for Poland – the 2023 European U19 Championship taking place in Malta in July.
Oyedele cut his footballing teeth at Beechfield, and moved to Burnley, before he was snapped up by Manchester United at the age of seven.
It just had to be ⚽️
