Nigerian-born winger fires brace for Queens Park Rangers U23s against Nottingham Forest

Nigerian-born winger Ody Alfa bagged a brace as Queens Park Rangers U23s strolled past Nottingham Forest 6-2 in a Premier League Cup clash at Grosvenor Vale on Tuesday night.

The young Hoops were leading 4-1 at the break thanks to goals from Alfa, Stephen Duke-McKenna (2) and Aaron Drewe, while Ateef Konate pulled a goal back for Forest.

In the second half, Alfa and Sean Adarkwa got on the scoresheet, and Lewis Salmon’s effort for the visitors was only a consolation.

Aged 22, the Anglo-Nigerian made his first team debut for Queens Park Rangers in a League Cup win against Oxford United in August, coming off the bench to replace Ilias Chair for the last fifteen minutes.

Previously, Alfa got a taste of first team football during loan spells at Maidenhead United, Atlético Baleares and Billericay Town.

Alfa was playing Sunday League Football prior to his move to Queens Park Rangers at the age of fourteen.
