Official : Two attack-minded teenagers of Nigerian descent retained by Manchester United
Two teenagers of Nigerian descent in the shape of Dillon Hoogewerf and Shola Shoretire have been kept on by the Old Trafford outfit.
Almere-born winger Hoogewerf joined Manchester United from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer of 2019.
Last season, the 18-year-old showed everyone his ability to score and create goals, with a goal involvement of 23 (12 goals, 11 assists) in nineteen appearances in the U18 Premier League.
Hoogewerf signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils in March 2020.
Shoretire needs no introduction, he is the youngest player in history to feature for Manchester United in European competition after his appearances against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
The 17-year-old striker was picked in five matchday squads for Premier League games in 2020-2021, and was given minutes against Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Shoretire was rewarded with his first professional contract in February 2021.
