Super Eagles’ 2022 World Cup Qualifying Fixtures Revealed


Nigeria’s National Football team, Super Eagles will host Liberia in Lagos on September 3 for their qualifying schedule for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.Naija News reports that the second round qualifying fixtures were released on Thursday, July 29. The three-time African champions would again travel to Cape Verde on September 7.

The Super Eagles play a double-header against the Central African Republic (CAR) between October 6 and 12. Nigeria will host the first leg, before travelling for the reverse fixture.

The Eagles between November 11 and 16 play against Liberia and Cape Verde respectively. In March 2022, the overall winners of this group will then play a final playoff against a winner of one of the other nine groups for a place at the 2022 World Cup, which will kick off on November 21, 2022.

A month ago, President Muhammadu Buhari allocated houses to the Super Eagles squad that won the African Cup of Nations in Tunis, Tunisia, in 1994.

Naija News reports that the spokesman of the President, Garba Shehu, in a statement, noted that the allocation of houses is in fulfilment of a promise made by the Federal Government.

Shehu further stated that his principal approved three bedroom allocations in their states of preference, following a memo by Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
