Tottenham ready to beat Premier League rivals to France international

Tottenham ready to beat Premier League rivals to France international

Tottenham Hotspur could beat several of their Premier League rivals by making a move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram in January.

The forward is out of contract with the German club next summer and is expected to honour the rest of his deal. That has prompted many clubs to become interested in the France international as they would be getting a big talent for free but Tottenham are believed to have other plans.

According to Ignazio Genuardi, Spurs will try to get a jump on the rest of the competition by making a move for Thuram in January as Antonio Conte looks to add another weapon to his forward line.

The French journalist reports that a move for France international in January could cost up to €20m, which might tempt Mochengladbach to part ways with the 25-year-old early.

Apart from Tottenham, it is believed that Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Arsenal also have an interest in the player and therefore, this would be a big deal for Spurs should they get the jump on these teams.

Thuram is currently at the World Cup with France and is having a great season in Germany. The 25-year-old has played 17 games this season and has contributed 13 goals and four assists within those – one goal contribution per game.

The forward would be a brilliant signing for the club that manages to bring him in as Tottenham look to avoid any competition by making a move in January.

Tottenham initiate contact for 24-yr-old, Conte keen on his teammate as well

Tottenham initiate contact for 24-yr-old, Conte keen on his teammate as well

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen their midfield department during the January transfer window.

The Londoners have identified the Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie as a potential target and r report from Tuttosport claims that Spurs have already initiated contact with the player’s representatives.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Italy for months now, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can pull off the transfer in the coming weeks.

McKennie is currently away on World Cup duty with the United States and he will be hoping to help his country progress to the knockout rounds of the competition.

He has done reasonably well for the USA in the World Cup so far, and he could prove to be a useful addition to the Tottenham midfield.

Antonio Conte has had to overuse the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg this season and he could use more options in the midfield.

The signing of the 24-year-old United States international will allow Conte to rotate his squad better and keep the players fresh.

More Stories / Latest News

Meanwhile, the report adds that Spurs are keeping tabs on the French international midfielder Adrien Rabiot as well. The 27-year-old has done well for France in the World Cup and he will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs are willing to pay a nominal fee and bring forward a move for Rabiot in January.

Tottenham star Son Heung-Min in tears over ‘lack of justice’ in South Korea’s draw vs Ghana

Tottenham star Son Heung-Min in tears over ‘lack of justice’ in South Korea’s draw vs Ghana

Tottenham star Son Heung-Min was in tears following a “lack of justice” shown by referee Anthony Taylor, South Korea assistant Sergio Costa has claimed.

Spurs attacker Son was visibly upset at the final whistle after South Korea fell to a 3-2 loss which leaves them on the brink of being knocked out of the World Cup.

Cho Gue-sung netted twice in just three second-half minutes to bring South Korea level before Mohammed Kudus fired Ghana to a dramatic victory.

South Korea coach Paulo Bento was shown a red card following a confrontation with Taylor at the end of the match.

Bento was furious South Korea were denied a corner when Taylor blew up after the allocated 10 minutes of stoppage time.

Asked why Son was so upset at the conclusion of Monday’s pulsating Group H fixture, Costa replied: “The reaction is a reaction of a person and a group which feels a lack of fairness at the end of the match.

“It is a normal reaction of someone that did all they could to win, and were not able to do so. I believe we should be sad, and feel a lack of justice at the end of this match.

“The result is totally unfair. Not even a tie was fair. We clearly deserved the win.”

Bento will now miss his side’s final group game against his home country Portugal.

Commenting on Bento’s outburst, Costa added: “It was related to the fact that we thought a different criteria was used.

“In the first half, they let a very similar situation be played, and in the second half, when we had an opportunity for a corner kick, the referee took that opportunity away from us.

“Paulo reacted, I was close by, and he said nothing which was inappropriate to the referee. It was a lack of fairness.”

Following their defeat to Portugal, Ghana’s win – their first at the World Cup since 2010 – provides them with hope of reaching the knockout stages.

Ajax’s Kudus will take the plaudits after he scored in both halves following Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu’s opener with 24 minutes gone.

“He is a good character and a very good player,” said Ghana manager Otto Addo of Kudus, 22.

“He is on the right track to be a great, great player, and I only have high praise for him.

“A big congratulations to the team to be mentally that strong and to come back and score the third goal.

“At the end it was passionate defending. We were a bit lucky because South Korea put us under a lot of pressure. But our passionate fight got rewarded.”

€120M Tottenham star a surprise target for European giants next summer

€120M Tottenham star a surprise target for European giants next summer

Tottenham forward Richarlison is reportedly a target for Real Madrid next summer with manager Carlo Ancelotti a big fan of the Brazilian star.

The 25-year-old signed a five-year deal with Spurs this summer after leaving Everton for £60M and has not had that big of an impact at the London club so far, as his season has been interrupted by an injury.

Despite this long contract, Real Madrid are said to be interested in the Brazilian and could make a move for the forward next summer, reports Todofichajes.

This is not the first time that Richarlison has been linked to Real Madrid as Ancelotti was interested in the 25-year-old when he first returned to Madrid from Everton – where he coached the Brazilian star.

It seems that the Italian coach wants to reunite with his former player and it will cost between €100M – €120M, states the report, an amount the La Liga giants are said to be happy to pay.

Tottenham told to make ‘brilliant’ post-World Cup signing by securing Serie A star who Paratici ‘loves’

Tottenham told to make ‘brilliant’ post-World Cup signing by securing Serie A star who Paratici ‘loves’

Tottenham Hotspur have been told that they should target Juventus centre-midfielder Weston McKennie after he shone against England on Friday night.

The United States star shone on Friday night as they earned a point against their Group B rivals England.

McKennie, Tyler Adams and Yunus Musah worked incredibly hard as they got the better of England’s midfield trio of Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Mason Mount.

The USA were well worth a point in the end and they perhaps did enough to win the game but they just lacked a cutting edge up front.

McKennie has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months and his showing against England will likely give him a better chance of securing a big move away from Juventus.

Ex-Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel has now called for his former club to sign McKennie.

“If the finances work then Tottenham should definitely be in for McKennie. He’s the best central midfielder the US has ever had,” Friedel told Online Casino.

“Against England, he showed his quality and I think he’d be a brilliant addition for any big side in Europe.”

He added: “I think Gareth Southgate was being honest in his post-match interview and it was refreshing to see.

“Berhalter got his formation spot on and England didn’t predict it so he has to get a lot of credit for that.

“I texted him after the game and said ‘great job’ as playing that formation started and putting Weston McKennie on the right really confused the England players. He’s never played there before and playing a rigid 4-4-2 formation really worked well.

“I understand that England fans get frustrated but Southgate was only being honest in his interview and perhaps the US aren’t getting enough credit for their display.”

Earlier this month, ‘Spurs insider’ John Wenham claimed that the club’s director – Fabio Paratici – “loves” McKennie.

He thinks Tottenham are “well stocked” in midfield but his signings from Juventus have been “unbelievable”.

“I don’t know where he would play,” Wenham told Football Insider.

“We brought in Bissouma during the summer and he has started playing like the player we all thought he was in the last few weeks.

“Let’s work with what we already have first. I get that Paratici loves Weston McKennie and who am I to go against his recommendation?

“His signings from Juventus have been unbelievable. I just feel like we should be spending any available money on improving our wing-backs.

“That’s what we should be doing if there is money to spend in January because that is where our problems are.

“We are well stocked in midfield as it is.”

Tottenham striker Harry Kane set to be offered a new contract

Tottenham striker Harry Kane set to be offered a new contract

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is set to be offered a new contract to fend off interest from Manchester United.

A recent report from Fichajes claimed that Manchester United were interested in signing Tottenham striker Kane. The England international has spent his whole career at Tottenham and his lack of success at club level could tempt him to move on in search of trophies.

However, Football Insider has now claimed Tottenham are set to offer him a lucrative new contract to convince the 29-year-old to stay in North London.

The report claims that Kane is earning considerably less than some of his England colleagues, so time away at the World Cup speaking to these players could increase Kane’s demands.

It’s no surprise to see Tottenham desperately trying to tie Kane down to a new contract. Even if Kane is looking to leave the club, with his contract expiring in 2024 they would need to extend his contract to hold his value, or they risk losing him on a free transfer. Losing him for free would be catastrophic as the England star is one of most valuable players Tottenham have ever had.

West Ham to compete with Tottenham for 22-year-old defender

West Ham to compete with Tottenham for 22-year-old defender

West Ham United are keen on signing Jakub Kiwior from Spezia.

According to a report via Fichajes, the 22-year-old is on the shortlist of Atletico Madrid and Juventus as well.

A couple of days ago Mundo Deportivo reported that Tottenham have the player in their sights as well. Antonio Conte could use a quality partner for Cristian Romero and Kiwior is being looked at as a potential option.

Kiwior has done well for the Italian club this season and a move to West Ham or Atletico Madrid would be a step up in his career.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers are prepared to submit a concrete bid for the player at the end of the season.

The report adds that Atletico Madrid will follow the player closely during Poland’s World Cup campaign.

It is no secret that West Ham need to improve their defensive options.

Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson, Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell are expected to leave the club when their contract expires at the end of this season.

Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd are the only reliable centre-backs at the club and Kiwior could be a solid long-term signing for the Londoners.

However, they will struggle to compete with a club like Atletico Madrid, if the Spanish giants are truly interested in the player.

That said, Atletico Madrid are going through financial constraints following their Champions League exit and the Hammers might be able to outmuscle them financially.

Tottenham rival Chelsea and Man Utd for Pavard transfer

Tottenham rival Chelsea and Man Utd for Pavard transfer

Tottenham are reportedly the latest club who could be up against Manchester United and Chelsea for the transfer of Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard.

The France international has had a fine career in the Bundesliga with Bayern and with former club Stuttgart, but could his next destination be the Premier League?

For the time being Pavard’s focus will be on the 2022 World Cup with the French national team as they look to retain their trophy, but it seems he could soon have an offer from Spurs, according to Todo Fichajes.

Tottenham may also be up against big names like Man Utd and Chelsea in the race to sign Pavard, however, if this recent report in the tweet below from Telefoot is anything to go by…

Pavard could be worth around €35m, according to Todo Fichajes, and that seems like a decent fee to pay for such a proven player, who would surely be an upgrade on Emerson Royal.

Djed Spence, meanwhile, seems to continue to find himself out of favour under Conte since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer.

United, meanwhile, could also do with bringing in Pavard, as the 26-year-old could be a decent rotation option alongside Diogo Dalot, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka looking completely out of favour under Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea might also benefit from more depth at right-back, as they look a little light since Reece James’ injury.

Tottenham are reportedly monitoring Everton winger Anthony Gordon as they weigh up a potential transfer move for him in the future.

The highly-rated England Under-21 international continues to impress with his individual performances for Everton, though Frank Lampard’s side have struggled as a whole so far this season.

According to football.london, Spurs are keen to keep an eye on Gordon in case a transfer opportunity arises, and one imagines the 21-year-old could be lured away from Goodison Park amid the Toffees’ recent struggles.

Antonio Conte’s side have had a decent start to the season but could perhaps do with one or two more signings to strengthen their squad in January as they push to finish in the top four again.

Gordon looks a player with big potential, so he could perform even better in a Spurs side that are obviously stronger than Everton in basically every department.

Chelsea blow Tottenham away as Emma Hayes returns to Blues dugout

Chelsea blow Tottenham away as Emma Hayes returns to Blues dugout

Sam Kerr’s first-half strike helped Chelsea to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge and lifted the Blues back to the top of the Women’s Super League table.

Spurs started brightly but the Blues took full control in front of 38,350 supporters.

Erin Cuthbert doubled the hosts’ lead before Guro Reiten scored from the spot ahead of the break in Emma Hayes’ first match back in the dugout following her emergency hysterectomy last month.

The strike extended Kerr’s scoring streak against Spurs to six goals in five matches as defending champions Chelsea moved three points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

The visitors controlled the opening minutes and had the first opportunity through Drew Spence, whose low cross from the right was easily stopped by Ann-Katrin Berger.

Spurs were awarded an early free-kick after Jessie Fleming brought down Spence, returning to face her former club for the first time, but Berger was there to collect Eveliina Summanen’s effort.

It took just four minutes for Chelsea to score the only goal the last time these sides met at the Bridge. This time it took Kerr 12 minutes to find the opener, dodging a late challenge before coolly firing into the bottom-right corner.

Kerr nearly bagged a brace moments later when she chased after a loose ball in the area but was beaten by a diving Tinja-Riikka Korpela, who did well to stop Kerr’s low strike soon after.

Chelsea scored their second when Reiten’s corner bounced in the direction of a wide open Cuthbert just outside the 18-yard box, who brought the ball down with her chest before sending a volley into the top-right corner.

The hosts made it three when Lauren James was charged down in the area and the referee pointed to the spot. Reiten stepped up and sent Korpela the wrong way with an assured finish.

Spence hoped to deny her former club a clean sheet, but sent her effort wide of the left post before Berger came off her line to take the ball out of the air and prevent Ashleigh Neville from cutting the deficit before the break.

Chelsea kept up the pressure after the restart and had several early chances to add to their advantage, Korpela first blocking Magdalena Eriksson’s sharp strike before Millie Bright’s effort pinged off the crossbar.

Jessica Naz broke down the right to try to set up something for Spurs but Bright was there to clear her cross, Berger comfortably catching Neville’s long-range effort soon after.

Spurs emerged unscathed from a sustained period of Chelsea attacks, James missing a chance to extend the Blues’ advantage on 75 minutes by sending her effort from 20 yards inches wide of the left post.

Tottenham ready to confirm big signing that fans will be happy with

Tottenham have everything prepared to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently from Juventus regardless of whether he activates the clauses in his contract.

The 22-year-old joined the Premier League club in January and has made a big impact for Spurs since signing on an 18-month loan-to-buy deal from Juventus.

The Swedish international was magnificent throughout the second half of last season and played a big part in Tottenham making it into the top four.

Kulusevski has seen this campaign disrupted by an injury but has been key anytime he has been on the pitch for Antonio Conte.

The 22-year-old has played nine games in the Premier League this season and has provided Tottenham with one goal and five assists.

According to Football Insider, it has been widely reported that Tottenham are obliged to pay £30m to Juventus if the winger plays 20 Premier League games this season and they finish in the top four.

However, the report states that even if those objectives are not met, Spurs will push ahead with signing Kulusevski on a permanent deal in 2023 as he has become a key player for Conte.

The transfer is said to be “99 per cent” done and this is a move that will please Tottenham fans as they have grown fond of the 22-year-old over the last 11 months.

EPL: Ten Hag did it on purpose – Ronaldo reveals why he walked out against Tottenham

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has claimed Erik Ten Hag “provoked” him into walking out during the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 37-year-old made this claim in the second part of his interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, which was aired in the UK on Thursday.

Ronaldo also said he felt disrespected by Ten Hag after the Dutchman refused to play him against Manchester City and then decided to bring him on for three minutes against Spurs.

“You don’t put me on against Man City because of respect for my career, and you want to put me on for three minutes against Tottenham?

“It doesn’t make sense. I think he did it on purpose. I felt provoked not only because of that game but before.

“He don’t respect the way I should deserve. But it is what it is. This is why probably, the game against Tottenham, I left,” Ronaldo said.

Tottenham ready to lure 13-goal star with a contract worth €5m-a-season

Tottenham ready to lure 13-goal star with a contract worth €5m-a-season

Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram has been linked with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form in the Bundesliga this season and he has scored 13 goals and picked up four assists across all competitions.

According to a report from Inter Live, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the player on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

The report claims that Tottenham could look to offer him a contract worth around €5 million a season for four years.

The Frenchman is reportedly one of the clear objectives for the London club, and it remains to be seen whether they can pull off the transfer in the coming months.

Thuram will be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the English club when the transfer window opens in January and Tottenham should look to act quickly in order to fend off competition from Juventus and other potential suitors.

The Premier League club could certainly use more depth in the attacking department, and Thuram has the versatility to play anywhere across the front three.

Harry Kane is currently the only reliable goalscorer at the club, especially after Son Heung-Min’s dip in form. Thuram’s arrival will help share the goalscoring burden with the England international and it will improve Tottenham as a unit.

Arsenal join the race for Marcus Thuram along with Tottenham and Liverpool

Arsenal join the race for Marcus Thuram along with Tottenham and Liverpool

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Gunners will have to face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur as well.

Thuram has been in excellent form for the German club this season and he has 13 goals and three assists to his name across all competitions. The French attacker will be a free agent in the summer and it is no surprise that he is being linked with top Premier League clubs.

The report from Fichajes does not mention whether the Gunners will move for him in January. But it is fair to assume that Mikel Arteta will want to add to his squad in the winter transfer window.

They are in a title race right now and a couple of intelligent additions could take them to a whole new level. Thuram has the physical attributes to succeed in the Premier League and he will add a cutting edge in the final third.

The 25-year-old can play as a centre forward as well as a wide forward and his versatility will add some much-needed tactical flexibility to the Arsenal side. Gabriel Jesus has done well since joining the Gunners from Manchester City but he has not scored enough goals.

The Brazilian has five goals in 20 matches across all competitions this season. Thuram could share the goalscoring burden if he moves to the Emirates. Also, it would allow Arteta to rest players like Gabriel Martinelli who have been overused this season.

Jesus can play as a wide forward as well and he could make way for Thuram to lead the line during rotation.

More Stories / Latest News

Spurs and Liverpool are looking to add more depth to their attack as well and they will hope to snap up the Bundesliga star on a free transfer at the end of this season.

The player will be eligible to negotiate pre-contract agreements in January and it remains to be seen which Premier League club manages to convince him. Alternatively, all three clubs could try and sign him permanently in January for a nominal price. It would allow Gladbach to recoup some money for him as opposed to losing him for free in the summer.

Potential Messi replacement? Tottenham star could be on the move next season as PSG line up bid

Potential Messi replacement? Tottenham star could be on the move next season as PSG line up bid

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to swoop in for Tottenham forward Son Heung-min next summer, with the French side reportedly eyeing the South Korean star as a replacement for Lionel Messi.

As reported by El Nacional, the Tottenham forward could be set to trade London for Paris next season as PSG prepare a £70 million bid.

There is concern at PSG for the future of Lionel Messi, whose contract ends at the end of this season.

The Argentinian has deferred all talk about his future for both club and country until the end of the upcoming World Cup, but he has been strongly linked with a move to MLS outfit Inter Miami in recent weeks.

If Messi does leave, Son seems to be his chosen replacement.

The 30-year-old has been a key component in Spurs’ forward line since joining the club in 2015.

With 96 Premier League goals to his name, he’s currently Tottenham’s third most prolific Premier League goal scorer, just one goal behind Teddy Sheringham in second.

His efforts saw him pick up the Golden Boot award – albeit shared with Liverpool striker Mohammad Salah – last term.

However, amid reports that Son is not looking to renew his contract which expires in 2025, Spurs seem keen to cash in on the forward next summer.

The opportunity for PSG has arisen after previous favourites Real Madrid lost interest in signing the South Korean.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was reportedly very keen to bring Son to the Bernabeu, citing his technical and physical attributes.

However, President Florentino Perez was not keen on the £70 million asking price for a player that would be 31 by the start of next season.

Unsurprisingly, for PSG, money is less of a concern, and President Nasser Al-Khelaifi looks keen to bring Son to the Parc de Princes.

Al-Khelaifi will use the World Cup in his native Qatar to talk to Son and convince him to join PSG.

After suffering a fractured eye socket a fortnight ago, it was rumoured that Son might miss the World Cup which kicks off on the 20th November, but the South Korean has recovered enough to make the trip and help his national side as they attempt to negotiate their way through a tricky group.

For now, this will surely be Son’s focus, but expect the story to develop after the tournament as normal business resumes.

Leeds boss Marsch on Tottenham implosion: ´I feel like someone ripped my heart out´

Leeds boss Marsch on Tottenham implosion: ´I feel like someone ripped my heart out´

Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch said he felt “like someone has ripped my heart out” after watching his side implode in Saturday’s 4-3 loss at Tottenham.

The visitors took the lead three times in north London and were ahead with nine minutes of normal time remaining, only for Rodrigo Bentancur to score a late double.

Leeds have shipped 26 goals in 14 Premier League games this season at a rate of 1.86 per 90 minutes – only Nottingham Forest (2) and Bournemouth (2.13) have fared worse.

Marsch, who had seen the pressure on him ease following back-to-back league wins prior to the Spurs loss, admits it has been a familiar theme for his side this campaign.

“I’m gutted, I feel like someone has ripped my heart out,” he told BBC Sport. “I thought we had control of the match but then we let it slip.

“There’s obviously positives in there because in our good moments we look like we have quality, but in our bad, we still look vulnerable and naive.

“We get leads and then we give it away immediately because we don’t stick to our principles. If we can then we can be a good team.

“Mentally, the guys have invested so much, there’s been ups and downs. We need to gather ourselves, have a break and then come back and keep pushing.

“A little bit of everything needs strengthening, we need to learn to manage the game as a group at all moments.”

Crysencio Summerville and Rodrigo both scored for a fourth straight game for Leeds, with the latter netting twice following Harry Kane and Ben Davies equalisers.

But Argentina midfielder Bentancur scored in the 81st and 83rd minutes – his first brace in Europe’s top five leagues on his 164th such outing – as Spurs returned to winning ways.

Tottenham have trailed in 14 of their 22 games in all competitions this term, including the past eight in a row, but Antonio Conte was delighted with his side’s fighting spirit.

“I think this game made many people very happy,” he said at his post-match news conference. “If you’re in the stadium you’ve seen a 4-3 score, with attractive football.

“In a lot of games we were losing and then we came back. I think we showed great character, desire and great will not to give up, to believe in the win.

“I try every day to transfer this concept. We need to fight and never give up. Never give up is our mantra. This is the positive side.

“The negative side is that we conceded three goals, which is never good. A team that wants to be competitive, to concede three goals is never positive.”

Saturday’s thrilling victory was Tottenham’s 13th game since the beginning of October and their last until Boxing Day, with domestic top-flight football now pausing for the World Cup.

“If you want to reach a good result, you want to show stability,” Conte added. “The last period was really tough for everybody, all the clubs, to play 13 games in 43 days is tough.

“It was impossible to work on the pitch on the tactical aspect. For sure, when you don’t work on that you are going to lose something defensively.”

Spurs have now scored 31 goals in 15 games in the Premier League this term – they have only bettered that tally at this stage of a season on one occasion, with 35 in 2009-10.

England international Kane has been responsible for 12 of those, making this his joint-best start to a campaign at this stage since the 2017-18 season.

“Harry has played a really important role in this period,” Conte said. “If we finished this period in the top four and qualified for the top four, I think we have to praise Harry a lot.

“I think Harry honestly deserves great praise because he is always an important player, but in this period there was a lot of weight on his shoulders and he played in a great way.

“He’s arriving at the World Cup with lots of enthusiasm, in a great physical condition and mentally stronger. He’s ready. I can see in his eyes he’s ready to be the protagonist.”

The report also mentions Chelsea and Tottenham, who had interest in the previous transfer window before deciding against a move.

Depay has not played since a September 22 Nations League match for the Netherlands against Poland, but if he puts on a show at the World Cup, interest could skyrocket.

Osimhen reaches career high market value amid Man Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham links

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has seen his market value skyrocket from €60 million to a career high market value of €70 million amid intense speculation linking him to some high profile European clubs.

According to the latest update by Transfermarkt on Friday, November 11,  the Nigerian is the most expensive player in Napoli and the fourth most valuable in the whole of Italian Serie A.

The increase in his market value is not a surprise as he has consistently churned out impressive performances in the shirt of the Naples based outfit this season as well as for the national team in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

With his scintillating performances, the 23-year-old has been linked with multiple clubs from across Europe.

However strong interests are coming from the Premier League where  Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Manchester United have been linked with possible moves for the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner.

Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reiterated that Napoli will not sell Osimhen for anything less than a hundred million euros (₦45.7 billion) if any offer comes.

He joined the Parthenopeans in the summer transfer window of 2020 and is under contract with Napoli until the end of the 2024-2025 season.

Osimhen is the leading goalscorer in the Italian topflight this term, with eight goals from ten games

Tottenham to offer big money contract to star Conte deems instrumental

Tottenham to offer big money contract to star Conte deems instrumental

Tottenham are set to open talks with midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg over a new deal after the Danish international’s impressive start to the season.

The 27-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer of 2025 but is set to add more years through an extension which will also see the midfield star receive a pay rise and move into the London club’s second bracket of earners, reports Football Insider.

Hojbjerg’s current deal, signed when he joined from Southampton for £15m in the summer of 2020, is said to be worth around £5million-a-year, or £95,000-a-week, states the report.

The Dane has made an impressive start to the current campaign and is a player Tottenham manager Antonio Conte regards as instrumental to his team.

Hojbjerg has played in every game he has been available for this season for Tottenham and his performances have stepped up further from last year.

The Danish international has been one of Spurs’ best players and has started to add goals to his overall game.

It is not a surprise that Conte wants to reward the 27-year-old for his efforts as the midfielder will likely sign the new deal when it is offered.

Conte has contacted £40m defender over move to Tottenham in January

Conte has contacted £40m defender over move to Tottenham in January

The World Cup could not be coming at a better time for Tottenham as Antonio Conte’s side are going through a rough patch of form at present and will be looking to strengthen their squad during the January window.

One area of concern for Spurs is their defence and Conte would like to sign Inter Milan’s Stefan de Vrij in order to help fix some of their problems, amid new doubts over his future in Italy.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are in the market for a new defender in January and if it is not De Vrij, then it will be someone else, but the Dutch centre-back is someone Conte likes.

The pair worked together during Conte’s time at Inter Milan and according to the report, the Italian coach is already believed to have spoken to the player about a potential January move.

De Vrij is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and with January being Inter’s last chance to make some money off the player, the Serie A side could accept a bid from Spurs.

The Dutch defender was valued at £40m last year states Football Insider, but the Dutch star could now be available at a knockdown price in January.

The 30-year-old would be a good addition to Conte’s backline, which is an area that is in need of investment at Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur urged to sign England star and Chelsea target valued at £95m combined

Tottenham Hotspur urged to sign England star and Chelsea target valued at £95m combined

Tottenham Hotspur have been encouraged to sign James Maddison and Denzel Dumfries as they can help to turn them into title contenders.

Maddison has enjoyed a sensational start to the 2022/23 campaign and his form has earned him a place in England’s 26-man World Cup squad.

The midfielder has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this term as he has grabbed six goals and four assists in 12 outings.

He could have easily left Leicester City in the summer as Newcastle United failed with a couple of bids.

Maddison may have one eye on a move to Tottenham though as it was claimed that he ‘wants to join’ them or Arsenal.

The Englishman was rated at £60m in the summer but with his contract expiring in 2024, his value is likely to decrease in the coming months.

Ex-Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda thinks his former club should move for Maddison and Inter Milan star Dumfries.

Tottenham are now exactly short of options at right-back but Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence are all struggling.

Dumfries has been heavily linked with Chelsea of late and it has been suggested that he valued at £35m.

Chimbonda believes Dumfries and Maddison would both be great signings for Spurs.

“I would love Tottenham to go for James Maddison at Leicester. I think he would have the same level of impact as Kulusevski,” Chimbonda told Lord Ping.

“We need more creative players at the club and I think he would be a brilliant creative presence within the team. He always makes things happen. Great freekicks, deliveries and passing.

“He is the type of player that makes things happen and he can win you a game on his own with a moment of magic.

“I think Dumfries would be a good addition to the squad. If he were to join the club that would give us four right-backs, which is far too many.

“Tottenham will need to sell a player or two before he joins and I also think they need to think about Spence’s future too.

“He will not be happy to see another player come into the team. I really like Dumfries as a player. I like what he offers going forward and I think he would be an improvement on Royal and Doherty.”

Chimbonda has also backed Antonio Conte to eventually turn Tottenham into Premier League title contenders.

“Spurs can challenge for the title in the next couple of seasons. Look at what Arsenal are doing this season, there is no reason why Spurs can’t challenge.

“I don’t think that anyone expected Arsenal to be up there after Arteta joined them, but he has turned them into challengers and I would expect Conte to do the same in a similar amount of time.”
