Who are Flying Eagles new boys to look out for? – Score Nigeria
Coach Ladan Bosso has already overhauled the Flying Eagles team who won the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Niger Republic in May.
Who are five of the fresh talent to give the Flying Eagles wings to fly at the U20 AFCON in Egypt in February?
5.Abdulrahman Adam
A very mobile attacking midfielder from Abuja club Mahanaim who has displaced Mohammed Aminu from Gombe United in the Flying Eagles starting XI. A lot was expected of Aminu at the U20 AFCON qualifiers, but he failed to deliver. Adam, on the other hand, has stood out to be counted despite his slight built.
4.Benjamin Fredrick
This ball-playing central defender is now the pillar of the Flying Eagles defence just months after he failed to kick a ball in the AFCON qualifiers as he was not registered for the competition even though he traveled to Niger with the squad. The former star from the Moses Simon Academy is technically sound, unruffled even under pressure and he could also be physical if need be.
Dominion Ohaka has impressed with Flying Eagles
3.Ayuba Francis
Former Ikon Allah Academy powerful, all-action centre-forward, who is full of running and fight. The U20 AFCON is known for its countless physical battles and this warrior should thrive there. He is currently the team’s first-choice striker, but could face stiffer competition from overseas call-ups in January.
2.Dominion Ohaka
The right fullback of Water FC Abuja has already been capped at full international and U23 levels. He could also play at left back. He is exciting going forward and also does his primary role well.
1.Jude Sunday
Stocky left winger from Real Sapphire Academy of Lagos has been the biggest new addition to the Flying Eagles. His mesmerizing runs down the flanks will be a big problem for opposing defences. He should go on to be one of the top stars of the U20 AFCON.
