Will FC Lorient now sell Moffi by next transfer window? – Score Nigeria
After the FC Lorient president revealed they stopped a transfer of striker Terem Moffi “at all cost” this summer, will the French Ligue 1 club now be open to sell the young striker by the next window in January?
SCORENigeria has confirmed that the interests of Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid as well as Villarreal CF were serious and they may even have made formal bids.
But Lorient position was not to sell and SCORENigeria specially gathered that handlers of Moffi were stunned by how resolute they were to ensure he stayed put.
“They made it clear that they do not sell a player within one season,” a source close to Moffi informed SCORENigeria
“They said it would have needed a crazy offer for them to sell.”
The French club took a massive gamble in October 2020 to pay eight Million Euros for the striker after a handful of great performances for Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
Moffi, 22, is in the second year of his three-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, who also have an option to extend the deal by an additional year.
It will be interesting to see how things will play out in January particularly if Moffi continues to score goals as his valuation has now increased following his three caps for the Super Eagles.
Last season, he scored 15 goals and made three assists in all competitions.
He has so far scored a goal and made an assist in the new Ligue 1 season.
